BIM Models within the project Life Cycle

Within the BIM work philosophy, there has always been talk about the idea of working on a single model during the life cycle of a project, which would facilitate collaborative work and the unique management of information, taking all the data of a project constructive BIM. 4) Analysis
5) Documentation
6) Manufacturing
7) 4D analysis or Programming
8) 5D Quantification Analysis
9) Operation and Maintenance

Each of these models has its own needs, which in turn will generate its own responses, the development of these requires the management of protocols and mandates that may vary according to the type of model, for example protocols of Architectural BIM Model vs BIM coordination model can have considerable differences when modeling them, although they share many fundamental points, in order to realize them they must be well defined and documented.

There are also analysis models that allow extracting the information deposited to the BIM model, in order to determine if the model works properly, the clearest example is the BIM coordination model, where the models of the different disciplines are merged to confirm that there is no there is no problem of collisions between the different components.
In conclusion, the idea of a single central model within a BIM scheme may not be entirely true. Different BIM models allow us to answer specific issues supported by specific techniques and strategies. So it is necessary that BIM Model falls into expert hands to give the appropriate management to each of these models to ensure the effectiveness of the information, the management of good practices and the success of the BIM project.
